The Present Moment by Eckhart Tolle

A fantastic introductory description of the present moment and what can be gained from it.  It is also a description of a very simple meditation and one that you will find useful.  This covers a lot of ground and is a video I go back to occasionally for more information.  Enjoy!

Dan Harris on 10% Happier

Dan Harris spends about 50 minutes on his book and his journey learning about meditation.  This is a great video to sum up the benefits of meditation and told by a person who was a giant skeptic at first

The Way of Effortless Mindfulness: A Revolutionary Guide for Living an Awakened Life

I think this book is best consumed with an audio book.  He has other works too, but Loch Kelly has spent a great deal of time describing and pursuing effortless mindfulness.  This is the next step from meditation.  It takes less time, is always available and is very effective.

Headspace

A great site to begin to meditate with some help.  It does charge a monthly fee.

Headspace Youtube

Headspace also has a lot of great content on YouTube that is free.  Lots of great videos and free discussions about meditation, minfulness, anxiety and others

The Mindfulness and Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety (A New Harbinger Self-Help Workbook)

I think this and the other ACT workbook on this page are the best self help workbooks out there.  This focuses on anxiety, but has a lot of good general info.

The Mindfulness and Acceptance Workbook for Depression (A New Harbinger Self-Help Workbook)

Here is the other great ACT workbook on depression.  Again, full of a lot of great stuff to get started.

EAT MOVE SLEEP

A great book on the health benefits of proper nutrition, sleep, and activity level. This book discusses cancer survival and just sound health advice for long heathy living.

Peloton

I am a fan.  You don't have to buy the bike to get great workouts all from your phone.  These workouts include weights, yoga, meditation, high intensity and on.  This is very affordable and has historically had no contracts.

Beachbody

This is a great media company with just about every kind of fitness video series you could want.  I have been using the P90X videos since 2009.

Fat Sick and Nearly Dead

A great little movie that will introduce the health effects of juicing in a wonderful true story.  The movie is entertaining and has an uplifting message.  Well worth watching!  You can see it on Netflix, Hulu, iTunes and others.

Why We Sleep

This book forms the basis on everything I know about sleep.  It is written by Matthew Walker and I think it is the ultimate sleep resource.

Why We Sleep

This is an interview given in 2021 that summarizes much of the information in the book "Why we sleep".  It is a great summary and a way to get a great deal of information without reading the entire book.

Stop Walking on Eggshells

This is a great book for family members who are dealing with a relative who has borderline personality disorder or who at least seem wildly emotional and irrational at times.  If you are walking on eggshells around this person, this book is for you.

Nonviolent Communication

One of the best resources I know on conflict resolution and learning to get to the real issues.
